MARQUETTE -- The trial of a Gwinn man charged with operating a meth lab came to an abrupt end Thursday.

Aaron Armatti, 38, took a plea deal after the jury deliberating his fate went home for the day.  Armatti pled guilty to a misdemeanor of using a controlled substance.

Armatti has been charged with conspiracy to use a dwelling to manufacture methamphetamine, a 20 year felony.  The guilty plea could mean a one year jail sentence for Armatti.  No sentencing date has been set.

Armatti's Gwinn home exploded last December.  Police later found evidence of a meth lab inside the house.
