IRON MOUNTAIN -- Congressman Dan Benishek kicked off his mission to visit 100 small businesses in 100 days, and the tour started Tuesday in Iron Mountain.  The first stop on the tour was Imeco.  He then met employees and officials at CCI systems.

The purpose of his "100 in 100" tour is to hear what the business community wants and respond to their concerns with the federal government.  The congressman's tour will be the whole 1st District.

"This is actually one of my favorite parts of this job, frankly, is to get to meet a lot of people and hear what their concerns are and be able to react to that in Washington on some decisions on how to vote and what policies to proceed with.  It's great to be talking to people about jobs right here in Northern Michigan," said Benishek.

The congressman's last stop for the day was at 41 Lumber.  Wednesday, he'll head to Escanaba and tour nine businesses there.
