HANCOCK -- The Hancock Fire Department responded to a brush fire at the Lakeside Cemetery.

It happened at around 4:30 p.m. Officials say once they arrived on scene, water became an issue, and drop tanks were brought in.

“Upon arrival it was pretty heavy smoke and fire going on at the time so we called in Quincy and Boston fire departments to assist, just due to the high winds. Everything was contained in a fairly short amount of time,” said Hancock Fire Chief Joe Neher.

The cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
