ESCANABA -- The weather is warming up, and if you like to read a good book and enjoy the great outdoors, there's a way to do both at no cost at all.  It's called the "Park and Read" program.

Library card holders can sign up at the Escanaba Public Library and get a one day pass that'll get you into any of Michigan's 101 state parks.  The pass is a $10 savings and is valid for seven days from the check-out date.  There's a limited number of passes available each week.

"New this year is a feature where people are allowed to also use the passes at any of the 11 historic sites and state museums around the state.  So that's really a welcome addition to the whole program," said Library official, Monique Ciofu.

The "Park and Read" program runs from now until October 1.
