MARQUETTE -- The city of Marquette will be collecting unwanted pharmaceuticals this Saturday.  The Marquette Police Department, along with the Superior Watershed Partnership, wants you to turn in your unwanted prescription medication and pharmaceuticals.  Police say this helps keep the drugs out of the wrong hands and is the safest method of disposal.

"It just gets the medication out of people's medicine cabinets, reduces the risk for abuse; it's a safe way to dispose of your unwanted medications without worrying that somebody may take them and they may end up in the wrong hands," said Sgt. Ryan Grim of the Marquette Police Department.

Officials say that the process is quick and easy:  you can remain anonymous and there is no paperwork.  You can drop off your medications at the Marquette Police Station Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
