MARQUETTE -- The YMCA of Marquette is kicking off its Strong Kids Community Benefit Campaign for 2012.

This year's goal is $125,000, and that money goes to YMCA scholarships for families in the area.  The campaign is coming off a great year in 2011 in which they reached their goal of $120,000.

"This is just a warm, welcoming place for families to be, and those folks that are on scholarship usually are struggling with something in their lives.  It gives them a place to be together, to be active and to stay healthy, and that's so important for our community."

More than 1,000 people in the Marquette area receive scholarships at the YMCA.  To participate in the campaign or make a donation, click here to visit the Strong Kids website.
