MARQUETTE -- There's nothing sweeter than the sound of music and some pies to go along with it.  At least that's what some youth from the Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette had in mind when they organized their annual talent show and pie auction.

It's all for a trip they're taking in July down to New Orleans as part of a national youth gathering, and organizers say it's quite the event.

"They get to learn about specifically Lutheran things, but also they get to meet all these other youth from all over the country, and then also there's a day of service where they go out in the community and do some clean up, some building, that type of thing," said Messiah Lutheran Church Co-Youth Director, Lisa McCarthy.

It costs a little over $300 per person for the conference, on top of traveling expenses.
