ST. IGNACE -- Update 10:05 a.m.
The Mackinac Bridge has reopened to traffic, according to the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
The bridge closed on Friday morning because of ice falling from the cables above the bridge roadway.

The Mackinac Bridge was temporarily closed at 8:45 Friday morning.
Ice, that had formed on the bridge's cables, was dropping onto the roadway. One vehicle had been hit; no injuries were reported.
It is unknown when the bridge will reopen. According to bridge authorities, it will open when they deem it safe for travel.
They informed TV6/FOX UP that they will contact us as soon as it does open.
