ESCANABA -- The science lab at Holy Name Catholic School in Escanaba will be undergoing a major renovation, and officials are seeking community assistance to reach an estimated cost of $75,000. About $45,000 has been raised so far.
The money will cover more than desks and supplies. It'll offer the students a safe learning environment to expand their knowledge of science. They'll also be able to do more experiments in the larger space. Grades six through eight use the science lab.
"We just had our computer lab redone, and I think that was a great boost not only to the morale of the school itself, but everyone who works and supports it," said Middle School Science Teacher, Amy Chartier. "So I think having another classroom become state of the art and a great place for our students to learn is going to benefit everyone."
Construction will start as soon as school ends.
