ISHPEMING -- Yooper Shirts in Ishpeming has now joined the cause for Eric Dompierre. Dompierre is a 19 year old Ishpeming High School senior with down syndrome who is trying to find a spot on the varsity basketball team next season. The Michigan High School Athletic Association says that Dompierre is ineligible to play due to his age. Yooper Shirts has created a shirt with the phrase "Let 'em play"
"Thats how the community is you know, we try to stick together and support everybody and we really hope this will help bring awareness to it anything I can do to help, that’s what I do," said Jeremy Symons the owner of Yooper Shirts.
The shirts are $15 a piece and all of the money from sales of the shirt will go to a scholarship fund for students like Eric at Ishpeming High School. To check out Yooper Shirts website click here.
