HOUGHTON -- Michael Jestila was in Houghton County District Court on Wednesday facing drug charges.

Jestila faces two counts of felony drug possession charges and was arrested by the Houghton Police Department in March.  A forensic specialist did take the stand and testified that Spike Gold, White Rush, and mushrooms were just a few of many substances that were sent to the lab for testing.

"The mushrooms, I concluded that they did contain psilocin," said Forensic Specialist Sandra Orlowski.

"What is the significance of the finding of psilocin," asked Prosecutor Michael Makinen.

"Psilocin is also a schedule one controlled substance," Orlowski responded.

The Houghton Police Chief and sergeant also testified and said they found around 61 packets of Spike Gold, Spike Diamond, and Spike Max after a warrant was issued to search Jestila's business Backroom Multi-Entertainment.

Jestila's case was bound over to circuit court and he will be arraigned on April 11.
