Eric Dean Peterson had been charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of larceny in a building, related to two incidents in December
MARQUETTE -- A Marquette County judge rejected a plea agreement for a Negaunee man accused of two separate felony counts.
Eric Dean Peterson had been charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of larceny in a building, related to two incidents in December. As part of the plea agreement, Peterson would enter a substance rehab facility, and sentencing would be delayed on the breaking and entering charge.
But Judge Solka rejected this Friday based on a report from the court's probation office, citing Peterson's extensive history of misdemeanors.
"It's my decision to not abide by the plea agreement and to follow the recommendation of the court's probation officer by proceeding to sentence on the breaking an entry charge," Judge Solka said.
Peterson will be back in court for sentencing on both counts. A date has not been set.
