ISHPEMING -- The driver of a vehicle which caused a three car crash on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 38-year-old Jessica Racine of Ishpeming.
Racine was driving a 2006 Buick Lacrosse on US-41 when she ran a red light at the intersection of N. 2nd St., according to police. Her vehicle hit a Honda CRV driven by 59-year-old Mark Dryer of Ishpeming. Dryer's vehicle was pushed into a third vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Prius driven by 49-year-old David Hinz of Ishpeming.
The Ishpeming Police Department received information that Racine may have been having a medical problem at the time of the crash, which may have been a contributing factor.She had to be extracted from her vehicle using the Jaws of Life.
Racine and Dryer were both taken to Bell Memorial Hospital. Dryer was treated for minor injuries and released, and Racine was later transferred to Marquette General Hospital. She is listed as being in fair condition as of Wednesday. Hinz was not injured in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
