HANCOCK -- Hancock High School is celebrating music week. It's an opportunity for students to understand how music connects with other areas of learning and their own lives. Tuesday, freshman and sophomores got a live virtual tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
"Students sitting in presentations and hearing from folks, like we're hearing today, from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it really brings a different perspective to the topic that maybe they wouldn't get if we were just looking at it from one side," said Hancock High School Principal, John Sanregret.
Students learned about various rock and roll musicians from the '60s and how their songs influenced that particular time period. The presentation lasted about an hour, and as the week continues, students will further discuss the influence music has had on our culture. They will also have the opportunity to participate in some hands-on workshops.
