MARQUETTE -- The Animal Medical Center hosted a fundraiser Sunday for the Marquette City Police.
Staff members from the center volunteered their time. They clipped dogs and cats nails for $5 and for $30, pets got a microchip so if they are lost, the owners could be contacted.
All funds will be going to purchase two new canines for the Marquette City Police.
"It was a great turnout today, lots of nail cuts and micro chips. It's been busy since a quarter after eleven, and it didn't start until noon," said K-9 Patrolman, Todd Collins.
Nero, their only dog, will be retiring soon. They should have the two new canines picked out by the end of this month.
