MARQUETTE -- Some, from the younger crowd, spent time indoors reading Saturday.
Reading day at the Westwood Mall in Marquette is an annual event put on by the Marquette-Alger Reading Council. This year they added four area libraries. The Peter White Public Library, Forsyth Township Library, Ishpeming Carnegie, and the Republic-Michigamme School Library were on hand to offer information and free resources to families.
"Today we have books that range from board books for babies, because it's never too early to read, and then we have books all the way through junior high. The reading council does give them a resource in handing a book that they can read and take home with them," said Lynette Suckow, an outreach coordinator for Peter White Public Library.
The event wrapped up around 1 p.m.
