Millions of dollars coming to U.P. roads and bridges

UPPER PENINSULA -- Millions of dollars are earmarked for road projects in the Upper Peninsula this year, according to an announcement released on Thursday.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation improvements will be made to 11 bridges, as well as 202 miles of U.P. roads.

They will use $39 million for road repairs and $4 million for bridge work.

This summer motorists can expect to see crews working on roads in Marquette, Houghton, Gogebic, Iron, Delta, Schoolcraft, Mackinac and Chippewa Counties.
