MUNISING -- The Munising Mustangs have a shot of breaking a longstanding boys basketball record.

It's been some years since the school has made it to the Class D Regional Finals, and they haven't won since 1954.

The boys will be playing Carney-Nadeau Wednesday night in Negaunee at 7 p.m.

Coaches credit this year's success to a strong senior class that have served as great leaders for the team.

"We've been together since fifth grade. We just know how each other work, we know how to get the other teammates in the gym, push each other," said senior player, Joey Richardson

"It's a unique ride we're going on right now.  We're doing everything in our power to continue, try to extend it to quarterfinals at least next week," said Mustang Head Coach, Dan Waterman.

Tickets for the game are available at the Munising High School office until 4 p.m. Wednesday.  They'll also be available for purchase at the door.
