FELCH -- The name of a man who died in a crash on Saturday has been released.

James Steven Carlson of Foster City died when his pickup truck hit an oncoming logging truck on M-69, east of M-95 near Felch.

A witness told the Michigan State Police the 54-year-old driver of the pickup was heading eastbound when it appeared the driver took a sharp turn into the path of the westbound logging truck.  The force of the crash sent the pickup 30 feet away from the site of impact and the engine even further.

The driver of the logging truck, Kent Martin of Iron Mountain, was taken to Dickinson County Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

This crash is still under investigation.
