ISHPEMING -- Monday marked the 100th anniversary of an organization that over 50 million girls have been a part of, and that's Girl Scouts.
The Girl Scout Troops of Ishpeming, Negaunee and Republic celebrated the big day by "Lighting up the U.P."
They had Girl Scout trivia, crafts, and a presentation by Miss Teen Michigan International.
"This is something that will never happen again in any of our lifetimes. This is the 100th anniversary. It's all year long we're celebrating, but today is the official day," said Girl Scout Manager, Corey Grigg.
After the presentations, the girls all went outside, held hands, circled up and lit up the U.P. sky with flashlights.
