Students at Chassell Elementary are celebrating reading for the entire month of March

CHASSELL -- Students at Chassell Elementary are celebrating reading for the entire month of March.

The theme is 'Camping out with a good book,' and as a part of the celebration, the school held reading time where older kids read to the younger ones. On Friday, the gym was filled with students as they sat down to read some of their favorite books.

"I'm hoping they're learning a love for books. With today's multimedia and computers, I don't think there's as much reading from a real book as there used to be, so it's nice to see kids actually sitting and reading a book," said Cory Dompier, a teacher's aide.

The creative arts class decorated the school's entryway with a girl reading under the stars. Students and teachers also took the time to decorate the inside and outside of their classroom doors with various designs to celebrate how much they enjoy reading.
