That's the hope of the organizers of the second annual prom dress resale at Marquette High School
MARQUETTE -- Save some money and give an old prom dress a second chance.
That's the hope of the organizers of the second annual prom dress resale at Marquette High School. They're still accepting gently used prom dresses from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday morning. At 10 a.m. the sale will begin, and they estimate more than 200 dresses of various sizes, styles and lengths to be on the rack.
It's a great option to snag a nice dress for a low price, organizers said.
"There's a lot of girls that get really excited, and it's fun to see that, especially as a parent. We love it when girls have something to get excited about," said Tamara Leadbetter, an organizer.
Those who sell their dresses receive 85 percent of the profits. The other 15 percent raises money for 'Project Graduation,' a farewell event for seniors. The sale runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the school.
