GLADSTONE -- With the passing of Gladstone's school bond proposal, construction projects at Cameron and Jones Elementary Schools are now set for the first week of June.
Officials proposed keeping taxes at seven mills until 2026. The continued millage rate will help pay for renovations at the two schools.
Officials are working on drafting plans and drawings, as well as getting permits approved by the state.
"This was an anxiety-ridden month, not just for me but for all the committee members, for so many of our staff members who spend their days in our buildings and know what the environment is, what the kids have to go through, and what we're trying to make do with," said Gladstone Schools Superintendent, Dr. Jay Kulbertis.
The plans include a three-phase process that'll be completed in about a year and three months.
