IRON MOUNTAIN -- At 7:39 a.m., the I.M.P.D. was dispatched to the Holiday gas station in Iron Mountain.
An unidentified male subject left Dickinson County Hospital against doctor's orders and walked to the gas station wearing only boxer shorts and socks. When the police tried to confront the man, he became extremely combative. Police had to use a taser to subdue him.
Witnesses say the man resisted the first tazer shot and had to be tazed again.
“I had never seen somebody get tazed before,” said Jason Asselin. “But to see this man get tazed and take it and keep fighting with the officers just freaked me out. I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen.”
The man is now continuing his medical treatment, and charges are pending review of the complaint by the Dickinson County prosecutor.
