HOUGHTON -- There was more fun in the snow today with the fourth annual Glide 'n' Gorge event. Families enjoyed a day in the sun.

Tickets were $15 with prior booking and $25 for same-day purchase. Kids under twelve were free.

The event was held at the chalet at the Houghton County Fairgrounds.

People came out to eat and ski on the three-and-a-half mile trails Sunday. At the end of the trail, folks enjoyed some desserts at the chalet.

“I think it went really well,” said Candy Solvia. “I mean the weather was right on our side, and we had all this fresh snow. The trails were in great shape. The sun came out. Everyone seemed really happy. People that I talked to seemed to also think it went well."

They sold 107 tickets. The funds raised will go to maintaining the trails.
