IRON MOUNTAIN -- A welcome home event for the 1430th engineer company is scheduled for this Saturday at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. medical center.
The event starts at 10am central and runs until 2pm. It's an informal event.
Members of the 1430th will be sorting out medical issues, as well as receiving information about healthcare, education, home loans, and federal opportunities for employment.
“We're going to have staff from the V.A. here as well as veteran service officers from the different service organizations that can also talk about benefits as well as our V.A. Escanaba Vet center will be here,” said Brad Nelson.
Veterans from any era are welcome.
The public is also welcome to attend and thank our troops for their service.
