MENOMINEE COUNTY -- Menominee County officials have declared a Snow Emergency effective immediately and continuing until weather conditions improve.

Menominee County Sheriff Kenny Marks and Emergency Management Coordinator Trina Rabida are urging people to avoid traveling.  If you have to travel, please use caution, keep your gas tank full and let someone know the route you will be taking.

Officials also warn travelers to keep an eye out for downed power lines, trees, or other obstacles.  They also remind residents to take frequent breaks when clearing snow to avoid overexertion.
