MARQUETTE COUNTY -- With the big snow storm looming, preparations are underway for road crews at the Marquette County Road Commission.

With the forecast calling for several inches Tuesday night, plus another six inches on Wednesday, the county road commission is insuring that all of their trucks and crew members are ready to go.

With over 1,000 miles of road to be cleared of snow, the crews know all too well how to get the job done.

"There is some exception when we get a multiple day snow event, but if it's one storm passes through then moves on, the people can expect within 24 hours we'll have them open up and moving," said Michael Harrington of the Marquette County Road Commission.

Harrington also says this year, ice has been a much bigger problem with the warmer winter and rainfall.

The road commission will be working in shifts to stay on top of the expected snowfall over the next few days.
