ESCANABA -- A car collided with a school bus in Escanaba on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of an Escanaba woman.

Escanaba Public Safety says the car went through a stop sign and hit the school bus on the driver side.  It happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and 14th Street.

The driver of the car, Joan Sauve, was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital then transferred to Marquette General Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The bus driver and children on board were checked by Rampart personnel and released with no injuries.
