UPPER PENINSULA -- Millions of federal dollars are coming to Michigan, much of it to the Upper Peninsula, to assist Native American tribes with housing.
The Housing and Urban Development Indian Housing block grants will help low income families living on reservations and other communities.
Funding allocated for the U.P. includes the Bay Mills Indian Community, Hannahville Potawatomi housing, Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa housing, Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, and the Sault Sainte Marie Housing Authority.
All together, more than $14 million will be used across Michigan with these grants.
