Jail time for crashing car into house

ESCANABA -- An Alabama man was sentenced for crashing a vehicle into a home while fleeing from police in November.

Twenty-seven-year-old Justin Wayne Childress was charged with operating while intoxicated, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and fleeing police fourth degree.

Childress received nine months in jail for operating while intoxicated, nine months for unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and 12 months for fleeing police.  All sentences will be served concurrently, and he will be credited for 100 days served.

Childress will also be on probation for two years, and his driver's license has been revoked.

The incident, which happened on November 4, involved a police pursuit and Childress crashing into a home on North 10th Street.
