Fatal snowmobile accident in Adams Township

ADAMS TOWNSHIP -- A snowmobiler was killed in Adams Township early Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened on the North Freda trial a mile and a half south of Larson Road.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says 65-year-old Carl Dale Peterson from Canton, Michigan was ejected from the sled after it went off the trial and hit a tree.

The accident remains under investigation.
