MARQUETTE -- The Kiddie Mutt Races are all set to take place in Marquette Saturday. The race is sponsored by the Marquette Kiwanis Club who will be providing the sleds.

Professional photographers will be on hand, along with food provided by Gourmet Girl, and Banshee, the U.P. 200 sled dog mascot, will also be available for photos.

"It's an opportunity for families and kids to come down, bring the family dog. Kiwanis supplies the sleds.  It's just a fun day for the kids and for everyone; it gives the kids a chance to be a musher," said Mona Lang of the Marquette DDA.

Last year's event brought over 150 families to the race; a similar turnout is expected with the mild weather.

The race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Marquette Commons.
