KINGSFORD -- A fire at a lumber mill in East Kingsford is being described as "a total loss" by the owner.

The Breitung Township Fire Department was called to the Twin Pines Lumber at around 4 p.m. on Saturday where the building was engulfed in flames.  Officials say it is believed to be an electrical fire that got out of control but are unsure at this point of the official cause.  They also had to wait for WE Energies to turn off the power before they could suppress the fire.

The temperatures were too cold for the fire department to contain the blaze.

An insurance company is now assessing the damage.
