IRON MOUNTAIN -- Students from the Iron Mountain area got to hang out with some of the international ski jumpers on Thursday at Pine Mountain.
Most of the jumpers they met were from Poland, as well as one competitor from Ukraine. They were shown some of the equipment the skiers use such as their oversized skis and uniforms.
Vladmir Hlyvka did most of the talking and also shared some of his predictions for the jumps on Saturday.
"I think U.S. Ski Team going to do well this year," said Hlyvka. "But it's up for grabs. Austrians, Poland are very strong. And like I said, anybody can get lucky, but it is best of the best around here."
The ski jump, which is the biggest in North America, is in great shape officials say. They are expecting good conditions for jumping this weekend.
