MARQUETTE -- Good work does not go unnoticed.  That was the lesson for students at Graveraet School in Marquette on Tuesday morning.

State Representative Steven Lindberg paid a visit to the alternative school to thank them for their We Care fundraiser, which raised $700 for a local cancer patient.

Lindberg talked about his background serving the public over the years, and the students had the chance to ask the lawmaker questions.

The philanthropic work by the kids inspired Lindberg.

"Young people just give me great hope," said Lindberg.  "I'm so glad that they are taking part in their community and thinking about someone other than themselves."

The outgoing congressman says he's not certain of his future once he leaves politics, but whatever he does, he hopes to stay involved with the next generation.
