IRON COUNTY -- The Iron County Sheriffs Department responded to three separate snowmobile crashes Saturday.
The first one happened around 1 p.m. during the snowmobile hill climb event in Caspian. A competitor was trying to climb the hill when the throttle stuck open on his snowmobile.
An hour later another man was traveling on the Michigamme Reservoir when he struck a snow bank.
The third crash occurred around 6 p.m. on trail 113 in Crystal Falls when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into trees. Alcohol was believed to be a factor.
All of the men were taken to nearby hospitals for their injuries.
