City trucks transported snow to create the location to create the race tracks
MUNISING -- It took several truck loads of snow to do it, but Munising family day will go on this year.
City trucks transported snow to create the location to create the race tracks. Family day is a festival of activities next to Lake Superior in downtown Munising. Favorites like the cardboard classic and the sledding race will be on again this year. New to the annual event is the 5K snowshoe race, as well as a snowmobile race.
Organizers said working together to hold the events made it all possible despite the lack of snow.
"We ended up combining the events, and that worked well because we didn't have to have snow in all these different places," said Kathy Reynolds, Executive Director of the DDA in Munising.
