BARAGA -- A Baraga man remains hospitalized after an alleged beating incident last week.

The incident happened in a parking lot located on Superior Avenue in Baraga, according to sources. The victim, Scott Dompier, was severely beaten. TV6 has confirmed that Dompier is listed as a patient at Marquette General Hospital and is in serious condition. 

The KBIC Tribal Police and tribal attorney have not returned our calls about this incident.

There has been no official word if a suspect is in custody. The Baraga Village Police confirm that they responded to the scene of an assault the morning of Jan. 27. The Michigan State Police post in Calumet confirmed they were also called out to assist.
