SANDS TOWNSHIP -- At the Adventure Centre in Sands Township, local snowmobilers got a chance to see and ride the latest snowmobiles around.

The 2012 Arctic Cat Demo Tour has finally made its way to the Upper Peninsula to showcase their latest snowmobile models.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, riders can hit the trails with the new sleds and see firsthand what the new Arctic Cats can do.

"There are a total of 13 sleds available to ride, somewhere between 10 and 12 miles," said Adventure Centre owner Robert Taylor.  "You'll have the opportunity to switch sleds if you'd like, and you're able to go pretty much as many times as you want as long as you're willing to stand in line."

Some of the new models being demonstrated are the 2012 TZ1, XF1100 and the Bearcat Z1.

The event is open to the general public, however, there are a few guidelines.  Riders must be 21 years or older, have a valid drivers license, wear a helmet, and must sign a waiver.
