GARDEN -- An incident on the ice is under investigation in Delta County.
According to the Delta County Sheriff's Department, there was a confrontation between a snowmobiler and an ice fisherman Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m., on the Bay near Ansells Point in Garden.
They report that a snowmobile drove dangerously close to a tip-up set out by the victim, and the fisherman flagged down the sledder. The snowmobiler came back around, and an argument ensued.
It ended with the suspect accelerating the snowmobile towards the fisherman. That person was hit and severely injured.
A friend of the victim was in a vehicle on the ice nearby and flagged down a passerby for help.
The victim was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
