MARQUETTE -- Cub Scouts had a good reason to hit the slopes at Marquette Mountain Saturday.

In fact, all weekend the scouts teamed up with Marquette Mountain for a fun family weekend. Scouts learned to ski and earned merit badges in the process. More than 100 scouts participated in the weekend fun; 23 of them signed up to earn merit badges.

"Besides for the badges, this is a really good opportunity for scouts to get an opportunity to get rentals and get lessons and just have a fun time learning how to ski," said Kevin Corkin of Boy Scouts of America.

Next weekend, the scouts will be at the hill once again for a cardboard classic sledding.
