It will be a bit of a snowy weekend in the U.P. Snowfall will be generally on the light side, perfect for anyone enjoying the Noquemanon.
Saturday's highs will be only a little above average in the upper 20s. Winds may be a bit breezy out of the west becoming more northwesterly. A small low pressure system will be passing through the U.P. bringing a couple inches of system-related snow.
Heavier snowfall will be in the northwest-wind snow belts. The NWS has issued Lake Effect Snow Watches and Warnings for these areas.
System-related snow should end in the daytime Saturday, but lake effect snow will persist through Sunday afternoon. Saturday's lows will be 10s.
Sunday will be colder with highs around 20 and lows approaching 0. Total snowfall across Upper Michigan this weekend will be 1 to 3 inches, but with excess of 8 inches likely in the northwest-wind snow belts.
