ESCANABA -- Thursday was the second session of the 2012 Delta Force class in Escanaba.

Delta Force is a community leadership and development program.  There are 23 participants who met at Bay College for leadership day and community service. They took a profile assessment to understand more about their own leadership styles and typical behaviors.

The members are made up of business owners and hospital and college employees, to name a few.

The program is a 10-month process and ends in October.

"This program is absolutely critical in sustaining a good leadership in our community," said Delta Force facilitator Jamie Peterson.  "And it is imperative that we educate tomorrow's leaders so that we can ensure that we'll have a long and prosperous community."

Participants will learn about topics like government, law, and history during future sessions.
