ESCANABA -- First they painted Bobaloons Cafe, now the Escanaba Middle School students from Teen Scene are creating the art concept for their next business piece.

After class ended on Thursday, the students walked to The Record Rack.  The shop cells CDs, video games, and movies.

It was the first day the community art program participants met and brainstormed with the owner.  They took measurements of the storefront displays and plan on creating a collage of what the store sells.

"I'm really, really thankful for it," said teacher Eddie Moritz.  "I'm really, really thankful for a community that supports art with their kids because it is vital and it is important.  And they are our future, and they have a lot to give.  They should get a chance to enjoy this.  I enjoy it.  So I want them to have that, too."

Teen Scene is a 10-week program.

The students will start working on the new display in early March.
