GLADSTONE -- Logs from a logging truck split off and covered four lanes of traffic, hitting a Cheverolet pickup and causing minor damage to the vehicle, police said.

It happened shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday. The driver, from a Gulliver company, Mike Lund Trucking, was driving southbound on US-2 and 41 south of Gladstone when the load split off and covered all four lanes of traffic. Prior to the accident, the wheels had come off, and two tires were missing off the trailer.

The Delta County Road Commission assisted on the scene. A front-end loader was used to clear the roadway.
