The caller claims you can win a cash prize of nearly $100,000 after paying a processing fee of $200 via Western Union

ALGER CO. -- Alger County residents should be aware of a recent phone scam circling the area. The sheriff's department has received two complaints so far about the scam.

The caller claims to be from a company called Publishing Clearing House. The caller claims you can win a cash prize of nearly $100,000 after paying a processing fee of $200 via Western Union. The reported phone number is 8-876-890-2974 although it could change.

If you receive a call from this number or anyone else claiming to hold your cash prize, contact your local police station or the Alger County Sheriff's Department.
