HOUGHTON -- Plenty of snow has blanketed the Keweenaw over the past couple of days.
The sun has finally disappeared and there isn't a dry spot on the ground thanks to 13 inches of fresh powder. Windy weather has created some blowing snow which makes it somewhat difficult to see while driving in certain areas.
The roads are continually being plowed, and people aren't letting all of the recent snowfall get in the way of their daily activities.
"Well, I'm excited about it," said Houghton resident Andrew Grow. "I mean, when it's cold and no snow, you have less to do, I think, so I'd like to go snowshoeing on the weekends or maybe cross country skiing. I'm not much of a cross country skier, but I might take it up this year."
Many in the Keweenaw are happy about the snow because it means more tourists, and that's good for business.
There is also enough snow on the ground now for all of those fun winter activities to begin.
