Powell Township issues conserve water notice

POWELL TOWNSHIP -- There has been a conserve water notice issued for residents in Powell Township. 

The announcement, released around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, is regarding a leak or leaks in the township's water system.

The existing wells, storage tank and system are functioning, but the elevated storage tank is having issues filling due to the leak.

Powell Township officials, along with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, are working to locate the leak.  All properties connected to the township's water system will be checked for leaks by the township or a consultant.
