SAWYER -- Cliff's Natural Resources announced the sale of its renewaFUEL biomass production facility on Thursday.

Cliffs has been seeking a buyer for renewaFUEL since september 2011, and on Thursday the sale was completed.

RNFL Acquisition LLC has purchased the facility, located at the Telkite Technology Park near Sawyer International Airport.

"We were able to reach agreement to sell renewaFUEL to a new company who plans to come in here and operate the facility as it is at Sawyer, our understanding is they plan to continue the operation and to provide additional jobs in Marquette County and we're very pleased that we were able to do that," said Cliffs Natural Resources spokesman Dale Hemmila.

RNFL Acquisition plans to hire around 25 employees to operate the facility as of now.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed at this time.
